Using Spokane Scape techniques of weed control, Hugelkultur raised bed building and a cohesive design, this garden requires only monthly maintenance now. Much of the products used on this project were repurposed from clients own yard. Including river rock and retaining wall for corner raised bed.

Both of these projects only require monthly maintenance which we highly recommend. Keeping ahead of the weeds and any other invasive is the key to success in these type of scapes.

The Basalt Rock Garden Scape

In this garden we created a low maintenance drought tolerant and deer resistant colorful but simple garden per our clients request. Prior to this his garden was full of rose bushes, and many invasive perennials and grasses he could not manage. In the back there was a strip of tall weeds/perennials that stood on the boundary between his property and his neighbors.

The French Drain Rock Path

Our paths are done using the SpokaneScape method of removing only the edges of sod and cutting grass very close to ground, adding cardboard to kill grass and then in this case a "french drain" We do not use heavy machinery. This client wanted a low maintenance path that drew water away from her foundation. We installed several french drains along both sides of house. Shade and drought tolerant plants on one side and herbs and Sedum and Hosta on the other side to help prevent run off.
